Swim Academy Director & SEQ Level 2 Swimming Instructor
Debi Abdelrahman
In 2023 I opened Oxfordshire Swim Academy after recognising a significant gap in the local market for small-group progressive swimming lessons for both children and adults. I have over 25 years of experience teaching adults and children to learn to swim, improve technique or train for competitive swims and owned a swim school in Dubai for two years in 2014. I believe fundamentally in the need for children to be taught swimming as a core life skill from a young age and am proud to be able to facilitate this for Oxfordshire and local counties.

Academy Administrator & SEQ Level 2 Swimming Instructor
India Crawshaw
I have been involved in teaching swimming for 8 years, working at a variety of swimming schools within High Wycombe and Reading. Over the last 2 years, I have been teaching swimming at Eton College and am now working full-time at Oxfordshire Swim Academy. In addition to being a Swim England Level 2 Swim Teacher, I am a qualified Swim England Level 2 Swimming Coach. My background is in competitive swimming, where I have been swimming competitively for the last 12 years at Wycombe District Swimming Club. I currently compete at Masters competitions and in April 2024 won a Gold medal at the British Masters Championships.

I began teaching in 2014 after completing my ASA Level 1 certificate in teaching aquatics and then went straight on to do my Level 2 as I loved teaching so much. So I am now in my 10th year of teaching swimming. I love watching the children gain confidence and start to love swimming as much as I do. It is such a rewarding role.

I find it incredible to see how much a child can grow and develop within their swimming journey in such a short period. Teaching young children is such an amazing opportunity.

STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming
Emily Rendell
I previously swam at Wycombe District Swimming Club for 5 years, progressing through the academy and competing in galas before deciding to become a swimming teacher. I love looking after and working with young children and decided to combine these passions by completing my STA Certificate in Swimming Teaching. I thoroughly enjoy helping in the growth of each child by uncovering their swimming potential and discovering their love for swimming.

SEQ Level 2 Swimming Instructor
Lucy North
I have been a swimming teacher since 2004. I cover a wide range of classes from toddlers through to adult beginners. I teach schools during the day as well as 1-1 adults. I was also a Club coach for Thame swimming club for 7 years and still cover the odd session and help out with swim galas.
I have 3 children who have all swam competitively. The youngest is 14 and she trains 6 days per week.
I am extremely passionate about learning to swim as it's not only a really important life skill, but also, it's about having fun and opening the doors to so many other water-based sports.

I have been a swimming Teacher and Business owner, running my own Franchise since February 2011 up to May 2024 when I sold my business and joined Oxfordshire Swimming Academy
In 2010, I gained my full swimming teacher, baby and pre-school, aqua aerobics, aqua natal, and lifesaving certification with flying colours in only one year, and I have loved the experience.
Teaching children to swim is the most rewarding job I have ever had. So, when I sold my own business, I knew I still wanted to teach, so here I am now, working for OSA.

SEQ Level 2 Swimming Instructor
Chloe Brewer
Hi, my name is Chloe. I have been a swim teacher for 11 years, inspired by my love for swimming from being an ex-Maxwell competitive swimmer. I have a passion for helping others learn this essential life skill. I got into teaching because I wanted to make a difference, giving people the confidence and ability to swim safely while enjoying the water. The most rewarding part of my job is watching the pupils grow, progress, and achieve their goals. My favourite stroke to teach is backstroke because it helps swimmers develop a strong body position and confidence in the water while allowing them to stay relaxed and breathe easily.

I’ve been swimming for most of my life and competitively for nearly 8 years. I love sharing my passion for the sport and teaching a wide range of ages and abilities. I’m also a rookie lifeguard instructor and believe in the importance of children learning to be confident in the water from a young age.
"Debi is brilliant! As an adult swimmer who has done middle-distance triathlons, I could get around the course (1.9km)but I really needed some helpful (non-judgemental!) and constructive help to be more efficient and maybe a little faster!! A week's intensive course with Debi and now I know what I need to work on. Every swim now I’m practicing drills and I’m definitely improving. Highly recommended, I will be back for more!"
